Purikura – “Print Club”

In Japanese popular culture, Purikura (プリクラ) is either a photo sticker booth or the product of such a photo booth.

The name is a shortened form of the a registered trademark purinto kurabu, “print club”

This is a purikura sticker booth in China Town London, I took this photo when I was there last month, but I didn’t get an opportunity to use the machine! :(
I hope to use it next time I am there.

Lots of examples of cute purikura

I tried making purikura online on the website PuriCute

It’s not at all like using a purikura machine.. But I guess you can get pretty cute results. ^^

Aahhh my boyfriend stayed in Japan for a year and when I went to visit him we had a shot of those machines! They’re so fun, you choose the background and then you can draw on them and add little pictures, and they give you stickers at the end!
We also downloaded the pictures online so we could show them to friends haha : ) it’s a fun, cute thing to do so I hope you get a chance to do it too!

Also, I live in London and go to China Town for Purikura all the time! But did you see that there are more upstairs? They’re abit more expensive, but they’re a better quality and actually Japanese :)

Definitely try them out next time!!
